SUNRISE

The sunrise – or sunrise – is the period of the day when, for an observer located on the surface of a solar system star – a star rotating on its own axis, planet or not1 -, the Sun appears progressively above the horizon on the eastern side. In the particular case of the Earth, it is thus a phenomenon visible by an observer located on a given point of the surface of the Earth.

Sunrise is preceded by dawn, during which the sky begins to light up, some time before the appearance of the Sun.

The moment when the upper edge of the Sun appears on the horizon is the aurora (or aurora), a brief passage from dawn to sunrise.

In the universe more generally, elsewhere than in the solar system, for a star orbiting a given star – a star having moreover its own rotational movement around its axis -, we speak of the rising of the star considered (source : wikipedia)
